Baby’s Breakfast

Baby’s Breakfast

So I know I used to post a lot about A’s food when she was little but then life happened and I got busier and never did I ever post miss M’s food. Today I am going to post the most popular food that we cook in our house – good old oatmeal. We all know how good oatmeal is for everyone. It is great for your heart and cholesterol and it is SO comforting in winter that there is nothing that beats it when it comes down to eating breakfast.

We cook a BIG batch of oatmeal in our house almost 7 days a week. It is Quaker’s Old Fashioned Oats from Costco. The way It is cooked in our household is super easy-  literally I cook it in 2% milk for about 10 mins and cover it so it gets soft. I add cinnamon sticks along with the oats so we get that yummy spice flavor and smell. That’s it! When it is cooked sometimes I add fruits, nuts, dried foods or sometime just eat it without any toppings. Oatmeal is SO versatile that you can make it as interesting or as bland as you want to.

The reason it is popular in our house is my toddler A has been eating it almost every single day since she started eating solids and now miss M who is almost 1 also eats it every single day. I have stopped pureeing food for M since she was 7 month old. She was toothless for the longest time and has sported 4 teeth just now, she still managed to gum up all kinds of food. This little girl is a piggy- she LOVES her food. She  eats oatmeal in the morning. Again, the very same oatmeal that gets cooked for all of us in our household. It gives me a comfort knowing that both kiddos are starting their day with a hearty breakfast which is amazing for them and they love it. It is our breakfast “default” in our household. Here is a picture of M’s breakfast bowl from this morning:

oatmeal

It may not look the prettiest but it is SO good. I also add raisins on them sometimes- I let it soak in the milk for a bit before feeding them to M since it could be a choking hazard for younger babies.

Anyways- just wanted to post a great breakfast idea for not just a baby but for the whole family. Hope some of you will give Oatmeal a shot, I know most people are not very fond of it . But the benefits outweighs the taste (at least for me it does) 🙂 .

Enjoy!

The year 2016 .

Posted on

Every year I make some resolutions for the new year- some I keep (loosely) and some I don’t. Without fail each year my goal has been (like many of yours’) to stay healthy and fit and may be lose a few pounds while I am at it.Well, I still have that goal and a few others. This year my primary focus is “organization”. For the past three years I have been so preoccupied with raising kids and working full time I have let go of a lot of things and things have really “messy”. When I say messy I am not only talking about my house. My house obviously probably will never be Pinterest perfect and clean (with two kids and a dog) but I am finally going to make an effort to take time to get my life a little bit less messy and a whole lot cleaner and organized.

Organized not necessarily mean the clutter in the house but in my life too. My crazy life will stay crazy for a while I am sure but I have decided I am not going to let that control my life. I am going to start prioritizing and following some sort of schedule and pattern for things. I am going to be the me that was before kids. I was much more organized and had time to take care of myself and my hubby. But having kids have taken a toll on me so I am going to work on some of these things.

I want to  try to focus on things that really matters to me. I am not going to wait for the perfect moment instead I will create a perfect moment myself. My focus will be my home, my family and me 🙂 . So I am going to try to stay on top of things. For example: this blog! I wasn’t very active in the last year but my goal is to get back on it and try to post as much as possible. The reason why I started this blog on the first place was to write. This was going to be my escape and somehow I didn’t do that last year. But going forward I want to make an effort of be very active on it.It definitely deserves some loving. So help me achieve that.

Since I just finished talking about my goals , I want to know about yours. What are your 2016 goals?

A Super Birthday Party !!

A Super Birthday Party !!

Say what? A Super Birthday Party?

Yes. Indeed. A Super Birthday Party for my Super Girl A who turned THREE this week! I cannot believe how fast time is flying by. Only yesterday I was pregnant with A and now she is 3 and is FULL of personality.

A is so smart and so beautiful, it melts my heart. Her affection and love towards her little sister M is so sweet! I cannot thank god for giving me the most beautiful gifts. Anyways- we just celebrated A’s third birthday party and it was a success!

A asked for a Super hero party and she got it. She wanted to wear a red cape and she did. Hubby, myself and M took part and wore super hero shirts too. I did not want to do a traditional super hero party colors so I opted for pink/fuschia, teal, royal blue and lots of white and they all worked wonderfully ! God knows how many house of pinterest did I scour to come up with the perfect party for my perfect little girl of steel. Amazon Prime and Etsy were my best friends to get the goodies for the party from the outfits to the party printables.

Here are some pics from the party, enjoy them! Oh- I may do a detail posting about the items of the party but until them stay tuned 😉 . As usual dont forget to send me a quick note for comments/ feedback.

November…

Posted on

Dear Readers-

Say what? Its November already? It really is November which means less that two months for this year to be over. Which also means my A will be THREE in January and my M will be ONE in Feb. Where did the time go? Wasn’t I just complaining about how hectic and busy my life is with a newborn and a toddler? Seriously, it is not fair. Time slips away from your hands as you get busy with life and start focusing on things that make your life whole.

So talking about birthdays, I have two birthday parties to plan for this year. I am still not sure how in the world I am going to find time to plan and assemble birthday parties. Also this is the holiday season so which only means I will be extra busy with the festivities. So between celebrating the everyday joys, celebrating the festivities and planning for the birthday parties while working full time and playing a full time mommy to two super active kiddos, I am in a very exciting situation 🙂 . God help me!

New things in life- hmm. So A is still going to school all five days (full time) and M is still home with me and my mommy. M has started eating solids and she is such a little piggy! She loves to eat (so far) ! So I will soon be posting some food pictures and ideas in the blog just like how I did for miss A. Also M is crawling everywhere and climbing up the stairs. She is such a fast moving little thing, just like her big sister. It amazes me how she is growing up so fast. A is now  a chatterbox – talks nonstop and catches us by surprise every time she opens up her mouth. She is learning so many things at school and just loves being a big sister (for the most part).

There are a few more exciting things coming up for us which I will share soon. So stay tuned. No not a third baby haha (just so we are clear).

I know I write every few months which is super frowned upon in the world of blogging but I don’t get much time these days to drop a few lines. BUT if you all give me some suggestions on what you would want to read about or want me to write I will try to do that and more frequently. So please suggest away 🙂 .

Have a fantastic holiday season, eat, drink and be merry 🙂

So……….

So……….

Is the blog still active? Is she still around? What the heck happened to her? I’m sure some of you are wondering this about me and my blog. Well, for me I am still here and around. And my blog (surprisingly) still here as well! Maybe not as active these days but definitely still here 🙂 .

So let’s jump right in to see what’s new. Hmm honestly nothing major. Hubby and I are still trying to figure things out on how to balance life with two kids. Some days are good and some days are seriously brutal. We are trying to see past the struggle of balancing our lives to a sunny bright home with happy kids running around while the parents (ahem, us) can just sit and watch them play. Someone please, tell me that is possible, someone, anyone? We are having hard time getting time to ourselves obviously with two kids being super young (2.5 year old and a 7 month old )BUT we know one day they will grow up and things will get much easier , at least that’s what we are hoping for.

Raising two kids is not easy! I can tell you that. Especially, since they are so young. They both need and want our constant attention and we full-time working parents are beat by the end of the day to give much attention to them and add to that we are a co-sleeping family which means no break day and/or night. So lord help us get through the terrible twos all while taking care of an infant in the same house at the same time.

Okay enough of this rant. As hard as it has been it also has been super rewarding. Nothing makes a parent proud than to see their babies happy and healthy and smiling and sometimes seriously trying to kill each other 🙂 .

So what is new? Miss A is a happy as a clam when it comes down to going to school. She LOVES her friends and her teachers. Also looks like her appetite is coming back. She is now back to eating her normal amount of food, thank god! Miss M has recently started solids and doing wonderful with them. She is still nursing on demand but also enjoys her solids. She is severely teething though so looking out for those chompers pretty soon. I  am still making her homemade food in my handy-dandy Cuisinart Baby Food Maker, so yep I did not treat my second child as a second class citizen and fed her Gerber food jars (which obviously I did not feed my first baby either, nothing against Gerber but I am biased to Ella’s and Plum Organics). As tired and as busy I am I might as well feed her store-bought food at all times but I am still trying to make all if not most of her food at home except of course when we are traveling.

A now talks in full sentences and quite frankly talks a LOT! I love how my baby is growing into a beautiful “big” girl. M has started to babble and crawls everywhere. She is now trying to stand up on her own. Oh how Time DOES fly!

Okay enough for today’s update. Keep an eye out for some more fun posts or rather lengthy vent posts. Either way I ain’t going nowhere so bear with me. And while you are at it wish me luck.

Hugs to you all!
